Why top colleges’ professors are giving up and just giving everybody an A

As an academic tutor with a front-row seat to the evolving educational landscape, the recent article, "Why top colleges’ professors are giving up and just giving everybody an A," struck a chord with me.

+ Grade Inflation at Universities

It delves into the escalating trend of #gradeinflation, unraveling a complex web of challenges faced by professors. From constant emails and baseless accusations to the looming specter of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) scrutiny, educators find themselves navigating treacherous waters where grades lose their genuine meaning.

Here's a summary of the article's key points:

  • Professorial Predicament: Incessant demands and accusations create an atmosphere where giving fair grades becomes a perilous undertaking.

The best universities are now seeing the light. Many stopped requiring the tests. Now they are changing their collective minds. Grade inflation says all this and more even with a louder voice. The mastery bar has dropped so low even in private schools, I don’t know how this will get fixed,
