The idea of a “My Story” channel was the first one that struck me when I was introduced to this Hub approach.
My philosophy on life, if you want to call it that, is something that embodies my passion for life and how that takes shape.
Do you want to know THAT aspect of my life? Because when you do, you will know ME. That might be all you need to know, in fact.
+ I Got a B .. NO!!!
I have touched on my path plan, in a number of channels (#MyStory, #GradSchool and others), of going to graduate school for Mathematics.
To summarize, I started off my undergraduate studies at the University of Dayton. I was a mathematics major, but did not finish. I simply was not mature enough at that time to tackle that kind of program.
I left UD and finished an undergraduate program in Computer Science at Cleveland State University.
Subsequently, I earned an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California. I specialized in electromagnetics and wave theory. The math background required was intense. Again, I was NOT prepared; I struggled through the classwork, but earned the degree.
I have decided to pursue an advanced degree in Mathematics. However, FIRST, I am retaking or finishing what would be my undergraduate coursework in Mathematics.
LET ME BE CLEAR.
I am NOT going to struggle through what will most likely be some challenging undergrad classes. I WILL be prepared moving forward.
I am two (2) classes in, with a fair number to go.
I earned an A in Calc I.
I tutor Calculus. There were topics that I had never covered before.
I just finished Calc II. In some circles, Calc II is considered the weed out class of undergraduate math coursework. I barely missed an A, getting a B. (It was my fault due to a degree of lack of planning.)
THAT IS NOT HAPPENING AGAIN.
I begin Calc III right after the holidays. However, I extended my purchase of the online math program we used for Calc II.
While taking Calc III, I will be, more or less, offline, retaking Calc II concurrently in order to fill in the holes that I had in Calc II.
Yep, I am obsessed with what I am doing. I am going to #dothework. I am not doing it to impress anyone. I am not going to do something unless I do it right this time.
Yep, obsessed and possessed! This is me.
